Recently, the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs jointly issued "on the high school discipline innovation bring wisdom project plans to build the base of the notice" (teaching skills letter [2015] No. 58). According to the notice from Shandong University, "microbial genome project" Introducing Talents of Discipline base won the national "111 Program" approved the project, which is the sixth approved Shandong University, "111 Plan" discipline innovation talent recruitment base. 2015 annual total of 47 projects get approved.

       "Microbial genome project" Introducing Talents of Discipline base of the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology, Shandong University will rely on, as well as national key disciplines of Microbiology, Shandong University - Helmholtz Institute of Biotechnology, through the base of overseas academic masters, overseas backbone close cooperation between the members and the backbone of domestic academic discipline innovation.

In the first five-year construction period, the base will make full use of domestic and foreign academic talent, and strive to create a world-leading levels of microbial genome engineering technology research team, culturing microorganisms discipline leader and major research commitment and innovation in the original there will be aspects of accumulation greatly improved, so as to promote the further development of Shandong University microbiology.
